CHICAT’s health information technology program provides students with a thorough understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, medical records management, and medical coding. Courses include:
- Anatomy and Physiology/Medical Terminology
- Pathopharmacology
- Health Insurance and Reimbursement
- International Classification of Diseases, ICD 9, ICD 10 Encoder
- Current Procedural Terminology Healthcare
- Common Procedure Coding System
- Electronic Health Record and Practice Management
- Externship Experience
This program enables graduates to sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC), leading to healthcare careers like:
- Medical Biller
- Medical Claims Processor
- Ancillary Coder/Physician Coder
- Emergency Department Coder/Ambulatory Surgery Coder
- Patient Business Service Representative
- Insurance Verification Specialist
- Insurance Follow-up Representative
