    3D Crafting
    (February 23 - May 4) Mondays & Wednesday from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

    This class is all about crafting objects for everyday use. Students will use CNC machines, electric cutters, 3D printers, and more to design a wide range of objects. Projects planned for this course include phone stands, coasters, coins, medallions, and more.

      Pizza Pillow Collaborative
      July 5th - August 12th, Mondays - Fridays from 9:30am - 3:30pm

      Students will develop skills of drawing through sewing in this course. Using their imagination, students will design individual creative slices of pizza that we will make into pillows. The pillows will all fit together as a whole pizza pie for display in an art exhibition.

        Another Trip Into The Multiverse

        This Graphic Design Class uses Canava and other computer-based software to create digital projects, including comic strips, movie posters, logos and infographics. Students will learn the fundamental principals of design and develop new media art skills

          Panoramic Photography
          July 5th - August 12th, Mondays - Fridays from 9:30am - 3:30pm

          Explore the Chicago landscape by creating a series of panoramic images. Panoramic photography is a technique of photography using specialized equipment and software to produce an elongated field of view. It is also known as wide format photography. You will create and print your successful panoramic landscape image. Students will learn specialized camera and computer techniques to print out a poster-size photograph

            Another Trip into the Multiverse

            This popular class uses Adobe Photoshop to make creative projects of all kinds, including fantasy, comics, and video game-inspired. Students will learn how to make composite images with layers and use a digital drawing tablet.

The class will begin with fundamentals of the languages and how they are used to make both interactive and musical projects. As the class continues, students will use code to create interactive 2D projects or their own songs.

                Augmented Reality @ CHICAT
                (February 22 - May 6 ) Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 4:30 PM - 7 PM

                Students in this class will learn to use 3D modeling software, vector software, and Spark AR to create their own augmented reality filters. After getting comfortable with the basics, students will move on to making filters for different topics including sustainability, social justice, and education.

                  Develop An Expressive Body of Artwork

                  If you are interested in developing a body of artwork and applying to various Art Colleges and/or Juried Exhibitions & Contests, look no further. Using your imagination as a tool to create, combined with anatomical drawings, color theory paintings, and designed 3D sculptures, this class will prep you on how to express your ideas through exploring different art mediums and personal and/or sociopolitical themes. The end of this course will result in having an idea for a themed portfolio and at least 1 finalized artwork to add to it. The finished products will be displayed in a final exhibition in Gallery 1701, where you will be able to invite all your friends and family to join us in a professionally curated art gallery opening.

                    Mystical Polymer Clay Figures
                    Monday through Thursday, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM starting July 5th!

                    As an extension of the summer course, students will use their imagination as a tool to create. Using technical drawings, students will design a 2D mythical set design to display along a mystical clay figure. The encompassing design will express their ideas of freedom through identity.

                      My Doppelgänger Self @ CHICAT
                      (February 22 - May 6) Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 4:30 PM - 7 PM

                      This is an extension of the fall course, where students will continue to dissect what it means to have an alter ego by embodying it into a 3D Spirit Animal. Students will learn about the history of Steampunk Design and display their individual creatures in an exhibition. The exhibition will show their process of thought from drawing to 3D clay creatures and they will write about it in an adjoining artist statement.

                        Exploring Digital Photography

                        This course in photography will explore a wide range of topics including Urban Landscape, Macro/Close-up, Portrait, Photo-merges, and Lighting. Students will capture imagery in both the studio and the local neighborhood environment. The course will utilize digital cameras, photo editing software and specialty lenses and hardware.                           Cut-Out Animation: Introduction to Animation

                          This class is focused on teaching student’s digital cutout-style animation techniques, with scanned images and vector graphics. South Park is a notable example of the cutout-style.

                            Fashion Photography, Chicago Style @ CHICAT
                            (February 22 - May 6) Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 4:30 PM - 7 PM

                            In this class, students will develop a deep understanding of manual exposure and control of a DSLR camera, as well as professional lighting.
                            Students will work together to find models and decide what values and style they will display in their photographs.

                            Earn up to $325 through After School Matters.
